Bruised

I am so sore from my fall yesterday! I have an impressive bruise on one of my knees, and I think that I will soon have one on my arms and hand. Note to self: next time, fall onto a softer surface!
I’m still really low on energy today. I didn’t sleep well last night because [...]

Bump! (Part 2)

This morning I wrote about bumping into stuff. Sometimes it isn’t that big of a deal. Other times it is more painful. For example: I just tripped on my pant leg and fell onto a marble floor, seriously hurting my knees and arms. THAT is going to hurt for awhile :(
Hope you all are [...]

Bump!

I’m finally starting to feel a bit more alive (!), though I’m still fairly low on energy. I keep making the mistake of thinking I have more energy than I do. I’ll spend a couple hours curled up watching tv or reading, and start to feel pretty good. Then I get over-ambitious and decide I [...]

Alice Munro

Can’t decide what to read? Alice Munro is always a safe bet. She is an incredible Canadian writer who writes exclusively in short fiction. She has won almost every award available for literature, some of them more than once (and all of them deserved!).

Resources for Writers

Recently someone asked me where they could find magazines that would be receptive to their style of writing. I thought that I would post some of my favourite resources on here.
http://www.placesforwriters.com/ is a site that posts calls for submissions. This means that magazines looking for a specific type of writing will often post their [...]

Fatigue is Not a Strong Enough Word

I didn’t get around to writing a post yesterday because I was sooooo tired. I had zero energy and spent the whole day on the couch (and that was after I slept for 12 hours straight!)
I’m really tired again today too. Using my pain equation example, I explained how pain can build up. The [...]

Customer Service Limbo

I’ve spent the morning in Customer Service Limbo. I’ve been calling and cancelling internet accounts etc. and now am waiting for them to process my booking info for my driving test. The screen says that it should take up to 60 seconds, but it’s been about 7 minutes…
Had a rough night of sleep last [...]

Dan Mangan in the Suburbs

Oh man I am tired today! Yesterday I moved a lot of my stuff back to Mississauga, which involved packing, carrying boxes to the car, and then sitting in a car for 3 and a half hours. I was tired and sore to begin with because I only had a few hours sleep the night [...]

The Pain Equation

I want to start this post by thanking everyone for their kind comments of support! People have been sending me e-mails and messages, and I want you all to know that I really appreciate it! I’m so happy to be getting such a positive response.
I’m in a fair bit of pain today, which inspired me [...]
