My First Reading Recommendation!!
I am really excited to start this part of my blog! I read A LOT of books, and so now I’m going to start recommending some to you!
My first recommendation is a collection of short stories Canadian author Deborah Willis. I had some early schooling that exposed me to the worst short stories known to man, so for a long time, I avoided this genre. However, now that I have been exposed to some of the sensational short fiction that is available, I am reading them like crazy!
Vanishing and other stories by Deborah Willis examines characters dealing with physical and emotional absences. Despite this common theme, the stories explore a wide range of situations and scenarios. Willis writes beautifully, and I found it hard to put this book down. It is filled with characters that seem to linger after the end of the story. This book is easily one of the best short story collections I have read.
