In accordance with my not-so-secret-plot to make everyone realize how fabulous poetry is, I have another poetry recommendation!

The Secret Signature of Things by Eve Joseph is absolutely stunning. To describe it in one word, I would pick beautiful. Eve Joseph takes simple images or moments and finds the subtle force within them.

Now I know most of you probably think of poetry as some mysterious cryptic language, but in all honesty, the majority of contemporary poetry is not like that. I like to think of poetry as a deep breath that slows you down and makes you take notice.

So head out to your library (you can borrow books for free!!! and they will usually order stuff in for you if you ask them), head to your bookstore or visit Brick Books online and find out just how powerful the written word can be.
