Honesty

Lately I’ve been avoiding this blog like the plague. Here’s why (as far as I can figure out): I started this blog with the hopes of illuminating the day to day struggles of living with fibromyalgia. The only problem with this plan was that it meant that I too had to acknowledge all of the [...]

Obvious(?)

The medicine I took for my back really helped a lot. My friend laughed at me for not taking anything sooner (this is not the first time my back has done this sort of thing), but honestly I just didn’t think to do so. I spend every day with symptoms that cannot be cured, so [...]

Ouch

The muscles all along the right side of my spine have spasmed and locked. It is extremely painful and it keeps pulling my spine out of alignment (which is both painful and uncomfortable). The annoying part is that the more painful it gets, the more I tense up and the more painful it gets etc. [...]

Onwards and Upwards (or Downwards then Upwards Again)

I learned a lot in the summer about how to keep my body healthy and happy. The problem now, is applying all of those techniques during the stressful and very busy school year.
After I recovered (mostly) from my cold, I was determined to start anew. That, of course, was the moment that I got [...]

A Disappearing Act

Okay, I am finally back! I wanted to use this blog to document all aspects of life with fibromyalgia, but last week I just completely and totally bailed. Waiting for the results from the doctor became so so very stressful for me, and I didn’t want to write about it on here because admitting it [...]

Today is Monday

I make it a habit, during the second week of classes, to go to my professors’ office hours and inform them of my fibromyalgia. I find it extremely helpful for the moments when I need an extension on an essay or something of the kind. I am registered with my university’s Disabilities Services office, and [...]

The Land of the Undiagnosed

I keep rewriting the beginning of this post. The reason is that I don’t really want to say what I’m about to say. Lately some things have been going wrong with my body. For awhile I assumed that it was just in connection to my fibromyalgia but it soon became apparent that something else was [...]

Much Better

I’ll be the first to admit that I spent much of yesterday afternoon rather flustered and upset (a fact which I’m sure my roommates and friends can verify…). However, by the end of the day I had managed to relax about it a little. While the situation was aggravating, it is not catastrophic. I’m going [...]

Allergy Test

I went this morning to get tested for allergies. I had an appointment in February, but by calling and asking to be put on the waiting list, I got an appointment the next day! I thought this boded well, but the trip ended badly.
Essentially, the problem is that all the skin prick points failed [...]

A Not So Great Day

As I predicted in the early hours of the morning, today is not a great day for me. My fibromyalgia is acting up, and I can really feel that I am fighting a cold.
I think the reason this day has hit probably has to do with the the chaos and excitement of getting ready [...]
