Tomorrow, Tomorrow

I’ve reached medical testing week. I only have two tests this week, but it seems like a lot. Tomorrow I have the lactose tolerance test, and Wednesday I’m getting an ultrasound.
I have to admit I’m a little nervous about tomorrow’s test. I have to fast for 12 hours, and I do not do well [...]

I Just Want Some Damn Toast!

Tuesday I’m going for the Lactose Hydrogen Breath Test (yes, my doctor convinced me to reschedule it ). The reason I mention it now is that I have to avoid all dairy (obviously) and fibre for two days before the test.
I’m not so worried about the other meals of the day, but apparently all [...]

Sneaky Sickness

I have no idea what is going on with me today – NONE.
I woke up feeling a bit off, but went to class nonetheless. On the way there I noticed I was having some strange vision thing (you know when you close your eyes sometimes and can see the nerve endings firing? It was [...]

One Other Point

Out of my past four or five doctor’s appointments, today’s was the first one that didn’t end with me having blood taken. My arm was very happy not to be poked :) I have what are apparently called “ropey veins” which means that even though my veins look good, they tend to move around (or [...]

Don’t Read Office Magazines!

Went to the doctor today and talked some things through. I’m going in for an ultrasound next week (can you believe how soon that is?!? When she said she was booking one for me I thought to myself “So begins another nine month wait” but apparently not!) and will be talking to a gynecologist at [...]

Lazy Learning

I should start by mentioning that I’ve had a great morning, and that in the past day or two I’ve found ways to bring some more fun and relaxation into my day. So I have something to contrast against some of the struggles I’ve had lately (honestly, the changing season is driving me crazy – [...]

Honesty

Lately I’ve been avoiding this blog like the plague. Here’s why (as far as I can figure out): I started this blog with the hopes of illuminating the day to day struggles of living with fibromyalgia. The only problem with this plan was that it meant that I too had to acknowledge all of the [...]

Obvious(?)

The medicine I took for my back really helped a lot. My friend laughed at me for not taking anything sooner (this is not the first time my back has done this sort of thing), but honestly I just didn’t think to do so. I spend every day with symptoms that cannot be cured, so [...]

Ouch

The muscles all along the right side of my spine have spasmed and locked. It is extremely painful and it keeps pulling my spine out of alignment (which is both painful and uncomfortable). The annoying part is that the more painful it gets, the more I tense up and the more painful it gets etc. [...]

Onwards and Upwards (or Downwards then Upwards Again)

I learned a lot in the summer about how to keep my body healthy and happy. The problem now, is applying all of those techniques during the stressful and very busy school year.
After I recovered (mostly) from my cold, I was determined to start anew. That, of course, was the moment that I got [...]
